Maya Budzinski has been performing in concerts since the age of 7. She has won numerous competitions including the Grand Prize at the 2018 Canadian Music Competition which granted her the opportunity to perform the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the Montreal Metropolitan Orchestra. Earlier that year, Maya was a part of the Fifty for the Future Project, working and performing with the Kronos Quartet. Maya has attended many prestigious summer music festivals over the years, including Heifetz International Music Institute, Morningside Music Bridge, and the Young Artists Program at the NAC in Ottawa, studying with violinists such as Grigory Kalinovsky, Pinchas Zukerman, and Ilya Kaler. In 2023, she performed the Bartok Violin Concerto No. 2 with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra as a winner of the Calgary Concerto Competition. Maya is a part of the Nexilis Quartet, formed at the University of Toronto in 2022. In March of 2025, Mayas quartet was selected to travel to Lyon, France to perform contemporary works with distinguished artists. She currently studies with TSO concertmaster Jonathan Crow at the University of Toronto pursuing her Undergraduate Degree in Violin Performance.
